The cyberspace consists of a number of web sites and each web site sends the contents through documents which is called as web pages. The process of writing, editing, drawing or amending the web pages is called web page design. Web design is the skill of designing hypertext presentations of content that is delivered to an end-user through the World Wide Web, by way of a Web browser or other Web-enabled software like Internet television clients, micro blogging clients and RSS readers. Web page design is the most important function in the Internet as the users only deal with the contents and design of a web site. The persons dealing with the designing of a web site are called web page designers. The responsibility of a designer is very much significant as he does everything of a web site, i.e. from opening of a web site to its day to day maintenance. The web page designers consist of three categories they are the content writers who only write contents for the web pages and deals only with editing. They have no knowledge about the web page designing. The second category are the content developers who, after editing send the pages online. They work as the mediator between the content writer and the web page developer or the designer. The web page designer is the key to the success or failure of any web site. He can enhance the popularity of a web site through his designing skills or can cause the doom of a site through his mismanagement. The web page designers use their computer languages/scripts to convert general scripts into web page scripts. They generally use HTML language or the JAVA script for the purpose. The web page designers can further be categorized as the content designer and the graphic designer. The content designer feed all the texts of a web page and the graphic designer deals with the graphic portion of a web page which are very much important for inserting pictures and advertisements. Under this process one can choose any Font he want and it will be rendered as text regardless if the visitor has the font on their computer or not. Website Fonts can be seen and indexed by search engines too. Thus it can be concluded that web page editing is the most sought after profession in the information age now. As we are presently living in the information society, the web page designers are the information providers for us without whom we can be pushed back to the ancient society.
